Do you have any leftover candy canes? I have the perfect way to use them up! This simple little craft uses candy canes to make the tail for a mouse. Or you can make a mouse using a lollypop.
SUPPLIES
- construction paper
- marker
- I used shiny heart sequins for the eyes (but you can draw them)
- candy cane and/or lollypops
- glue
DIRECTIONS
Cut out your heart so it fits your candy cane or lollypop as shown. I laid the candy cane on one side of the fold and put some tape to hold it in place and keep it from slipping out. You could put the straight end of the candy cane out as the tail too, if you prefer. My craft assistant/daughter liked the curly end out best. If you are using a sucker, tuck it in as best as you can.
Cut out 2 heart ears. They are glued on so that one side is glued down and the other side of the heart sticks up.
Glue or draw on your eyes and draw on a nose on both sides of your mouse.
This mouse has a lollypop for a tail, so his body is smaller for it to fit nicely.
