I think this is a pretty popular idea but if you have never done it, give it a try! It is so easy that after the assembly my 12 year old daughter did all the decorating. You bake 2 round cakes using your favourite recipe (or cake mix!). One layer becomes the head and the other is cut to make 2 ears and then a bow tie. To make cutting your cake easier, try freezing the cake first. It helps it to be less crummy when you cut it. Check out the pattern photo.
After that you can decorate it as you wish. Perhaps you would like a chocolate bunny? My daughter used some Easter eggs for eyes and the nose and some jellybeans on the bow tie and smile. Some long string liquorice make the perfect outline for a smile and whiskers. She cut mini marshmallows to give her bunny teeth! I then let her go crazy with the sprinkles! I have seen this cake done covered in coconut if you are a fan.
This is my daughter proudly showing off her bunny cake creation which the whole family enjoyed for Easter dinner!
Easter is just around the corner but there is still time to turn a regular old cake into this hoppy Easter Bunny! So HOP to it and have a great day ♥
