My son’s birthday is coming up and that got me thinking about a special cake that I could make for him. Every year he asks for an ice cream cake. Last year I made him this delicious Ice Cream Sandwich cake but this year I would like to bake something.
I was looking back through photos from previous birthdays and I thought I would share these cupcakes from 4 years ago. The best part about these?…EASY,as you can see! They aren’t perfect but they turned out nicely and since we were celebrating his 13th birthday at Chuck E Cheese with cousins these were easy to transport!
Soccer ball – white icing and use black icing in a decorator bag to make the ball pattern ( a little tricky at times) ha ha Fill in the shapes.
Baseball – white icing and red icing to make the stitching
Basketball – chocolate icing with black icing piped on
Football – chocolate icing with white icing for the top
Now I am excited to plan for the birthday cake this year… I am thinking maybe I can combine cake and ice cream and maybe even a favourite chocolate bar! Has anyone ever made a cake like that? any recipes to share?
Stay tuned and I will share the cake later this month.♥ Enjoy your Sunday!
you have far too much time on your hands but they look great
Thanks! I made these cupcakes for my son’s 13th birthday which was 4 years ago (maybe that wasn’t clear that I didn’t just make them) BUT at this point in life, I do have a lot of free time on my hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is so sweet of you to say. Thank-you very much and I am glad you like the cupcakes. I take that as a big compliment since you are the one with the decorating experience! mine is just Mom experience. ♥
