I am excited to share with you my heart wreath that I made last week in honour of Valentine’s Day!
I love a beautiful wreath for the front door and having an excuse to use pink AND hearts in the house is also a wonderful thing. Thank-you Valentine’s Day.
This one is made from a grapevine wreath that I bought. It was pretty simple to do. Here is how I made it!
Here are my supplies. I bought a grapevine wreath and 2 bouquets of silk mini roses. I decided to make this wreath without a bow but I thought it needed some pizazz. I was very happy to find 2 ‘sprigs’ of this pink sparkly stem in the Christmas clearance bin. Do you know how much I spent on them? 19 CENTS!! I still feel giddy just typing it
hee hee. I took it up to the cash register but it had no price on it. I wasn’t really in the mood to stand there while they figured out how much it was…but I was pretty happy I did because it added the perfect sparkle to my wreath.
I divided up the sparkly stem and glued it on as shown in the photo using my hot glue gun.
Then I pulled off each mini rose and glued them on the outside of my stem.
Here are the rosebuds with the sparkly stem.
I used some of the leaves to glue along the bottom to cover up any hot glue that might be showing.
It turned out that my 2 bunches of roses did not quite go all of the way around the wreath as I had (sort of) planned… more like I had hoped it would. I was a bit disappointed to realize it wasn’t quite going to work out perfectly. As luck would have it I had a few roses from another project that were almost exact except that they had a bit of white on the bottom. I decided that since they were the center focus of the wreath that they would look nice and I added in the few sprigs of babies breath too.
My front door ♥
What a fun little project this was and I love seeing the wreath when I pull up to my house. Do you have a special wreath for Valentine’s Day? or do you keep one on your door all year round? I think I need to have one on the door more often! Hmmm … maybe more crafting
Very nice!
Thanks very much!!!
