I had a great idea! Every now and then I am going to post my “smile” for the week. There is something that makes me smile everyday and I thought it would be great to share and maybe make someone else smile too. It is important to take a moment and think about what you have to smile about and be grateful for the good things in life. So, here is my “smile”.
It has been awhile since I posted a “smile” and frankly, I could use one! I have been at my new job for 12 days. The day before I started I pulled a muscle in my back. ouch! It was challenging to be enthusiastic while silently dealing with the pain, especially in kindergarten!. The week-end came and by Labour Day Monday I had a sore throat. By mid week my back felt better but the throat did not. By the next Sunday I declared a “day of rest” and I stayed in bed all day. This past week I muddled through feeling so tired, headachy and blah. I finally went to the Doctor and now I am on antibiotics for a sinus infection. I rested most of the week-end again so I am hoping to finally feel like my old chipper self at some point this coming week!!
Like I said, its time for a smile!! and here it is.
When I started blogging and crafting, I was always drawn to the project that involved buttons! It reminded me that when I was a little girl my Mom had a button jar. She would work at her sewing machine and I would empty out the jar and sort the buttons. Oh, how I loved the buttons! tiny buttons, shiny buttons, pink buttons … Ha ha!
I asked her whether she still had the jar and I was excited to hear that she did. This past summer when I was home to visit, she gave me the jar tied with a green ribbon. OH happy day!
I wonder how old this jar is? it is still filled with buttons and perhaps I will use them in some of my projects, but for now I like just looking at the jar.
Is there something simple from your childhood that makes you smile?
May your week be filled with SMILES ♥
