I am here to share my cute red chair! I am not going to tell you how to paint old furniture because there are tons of posts about that online( including one or two by me) I just wanted to tell you that I bought this SOLID MAPLE chair at my favourite antique market for $22 and I painted it red.
I Love it!
Most readers have heard my complaints about my new home not feeling like home but here is a quick recap for anyone new! Since we moved into this house one year ago, I have struggled with making it feel like home. I couldn’t figure it out for the longest time. It is newer, more up to date than my old home with lots of great things about it… so why was I just sitting here not totally loving it. I finally figured out the problem. There is NO colour! none. All the walls had been freshly painted a taupe colour. When we looked at the house, I was pleased about that because it meant no weird colours to paint over or holes to fill. Then I lived in it. I used to have colour in many rooms at my old house – a red family room, a beautiful yellow in the living room and colour in all our bedrooms. We really did not want to take on the job of painting over fresh paint in this house, especially with the high ceilings.
My solution? I am adding in colour in other ways. I changed my curtains.
I bought this area rug shown in the photo.
My husband is currently painting our kitchen table which so far looks great.
Plus I painted this red chair .
Here is how it looks in its new spot. Doesn’t it look bright and cheerful?
Yes, my house is finally coming along. It is starting to feel more like me and more like my family’s home.
I hope you are having a great week!!
